The lamp CHESHIRE stars in the latest lightwindow of BioscaBotey, designed by GamFratesi study for Fontana Arte. These lamps are based on formal simplicity, with a strong emphasis on conceptual search and with great presence.
Home is where I unveil my kingdom. I love to turn rooms upside down.
The CHESHIRE family is perfect to place in the entrance table; along the corridors, to open the way; or next to your favorite chair. “With elegance and contemporary taste, simplicity and irony: a lamp waiting for its moment to shine, resting on a table, atop its stem, or suspended from above. As the cat in Alice in Wonderland, CHESHIRE has a strong personality”.
GamFratesi study is inspired by the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland, that lazy character that accompanies the protagonist in her journey and that appears and disappears continuously to give light in their decisions on this illogical world. The same as the CHESHIRE lamp which is designed to let her rest in a place and provide light at the right time.
The Danish architect Stine Gam and the Italian architect Enrico Fratesi GamFratesi founded the agency in Copenhagen in 2006. Their work is structured around constant curious dialogue as a coherent synthesis of their respective cultures. They prefer the Scandinavian approach, where the knowledge of material is linked to formal simplicity.
The CHESHIRE family is certainly a good example of the work done by this study and now stars our lightwindow in BioscaBotey. As the lazy cat from Alice in Wonderland, they are waiting for you to go and see them, do it before they disappear…
