The CESTA portable lamp is the work of the prestigious designer Miquel Milà, one of the most recognized in the country.
With the intention of renewing the tradition, this pre-industrial designer has managed to bring the way of seeing the design to that of the craftsmen, taking care of all the process of creation and working with noble materials, creating a conceptual vision that marks a before and after in the history of Spanish design.
This lamp is inspired by a basket of wicker, because it is made in such a way that through its handle can be moved and used wherever we want.
It is elaborated with traditional techniques of vaporization of wood to obtain the curved structure that characterizes it. Its cherry wood body welcomes and holds the globe-shaped screen.
It is said that his creator happened to find a crystal with an asymmetry identical to that of a balloon and that it was in the wake of this discovery that he devised this lamp, an icon of Spanish design.
From here, the family grew and now is also available CESTITA, a replica of smaller size, but with the same functionality and elegance.
In addition, for lovers of reissues are also available in metallic version, giving a twist to this classic. The WALLY wall light is the ultimate in joining the family.
The product is produced by Santa&Cole, Catalan publishing house of industrial design born in 1985 and with a great recognition in the sector.
You can find the three models and the different versions in BioscaBotey, lighting shop in Barcelona.
