At Biosca&Botey we take our hat off to the best proposals on lighting. On this occasion we present you the lamp shade “chapêau!”, a creation of by mis-MÁS. This is a new collaboration between our boutique, young designers and interior design studios. This esparto shade is a tribute to natural products, sustainability and craftsmanship. Stop on by Biosca&Botey and reacquaint yourself with the bare essentials!
There remain only few craftsmen with the ability of handling sisal fibre, a raw material which can be transformed into a unique piece of jewellery thanks to a very conscientious work.
In fact, this has been the starting point for the creation of the lamp shade “chapêau!”, a very special design made from an awe-inspiring material, simple but sophisticated at the same time. This model, now available at Biosca&Botey, has been conceived and produced by architect Julie Rouault and interior designers Cecile Carré and Vanessa Almar, who founded the mis-MÁS studio, based in Barcelona. They have now released their own branded products with the label by mis-MÁS.
“chapêau!” is a contemporary lamp shade, permeated by the added values of patience and care that lie in the skills of the crafters. The shade comes in three sizes -60, 70 and 90 cm diameter- and it is designed for indoor and semi-exterior use.
Furthermore, the structure -from a Barcelona small handicraft workshop- is made in iron work coated with environmentally friendly varnish.
Turning to the lamp shade, it has been made from the expert work of esparto and excels by its simplicity, beauty, resistance, flexibility and malleability. It also withstands weight and twisting. In particular, this shade has its origin in a Jaén family-run company, in the esparto fibre business for over 70 years.
“We are very enthusiastic about esparto, a universal material, for its accessibility and easy handling, but also for the many forms and uses that we can give to it”, Julie, Cecile y Vanessa say. The “chapêau!” shade has arisen from the combination of the values of the mis-MÁS studio –sustainability, modernity, illusion and comfort- and several months of research.
We suggest you to give the final touch to this commitment on nature with the warmth of an accessory also produced by craftmanship. Bright Sprout is a Scandinavian pendant light fixture designed by Jonas Hoejgaard in collaboration with Nordic Tales. Its Danish oak wood accessory, available in various shades, turns the everyday function of lighting into an aesthetic and timeless experience.
At our shop “chapêau!” is shown together with the fixture Bright Sprout featuring a black textile cord, although the colour can be combined at your wish, depending on the decoration of the room. It is also possible to choose between a globe light bulb and a deco bulb. All these accessories can be found at Biosca&Botey.
