Luxo L-1 was created by the Norwegian engineer Jac Jacobsen in 1937 and has more than 25 million units sold all over the world. It is considered as one of the 100 most important designs of all times.
It’s a bracket luminaire balanced by springs that offers excellent features and that has a design so elegant as austere and timeless. A true icon that has received numerous international awards, is present in several museums and was the star of Pixar’s first computer animated short film, Luxo Jr.
Produced continuously for 80 years, Luxo L-1 has largely proven its ability for adaptation to the new times without just modifications to the original design, something only the true classics are capable of achieving.
The L-1 is manufactured in painted steel and aluminum, has a E-27 or LED light source, depending on the model, and can be mounted both on a desktop as with a clamp or a wall bracket.
