At BioscaBotey we have been fans of A-EMOTIONAL LIGHT for many years, when its commercial name was linked to the artist and designer Arturo Álvarez. His prestige linked to a company with skill and vision, led the positioning of his creations as a reference in the lighting sector, even as light sculptures. Through a very complete catalogue and its own and external design team, the Galician lighting brand continues to be characterised by handcrafted work, which allows them to produce designs that would be unthinkable with industrial techniques, giving the shapes and finishes of each object unique and unrepeatable details. We are very proud to have been proposed to show three of their latest novelties, through the BioscaBotey showcase, in Princesa 52, Barcelona.
The first luminaire is a visual gift for BioscaBotey, called AGASALLO (“gift” in Galician) surprising for its elegance and simplicity. It is a design by Héctor Serrano for A-emotional light. AGASALLO is purely a collection of six sizes of mesh with a manual fold at the top that closes the lampshade. The fold is reminiscent of the looping and folding of the present, hence its apt name. AGASALLO is born from the form that allows the handmade manipulation of the well-known “Arturo Álvarez” mesh, a name that for years has led A-EMOTIONAL LIGHT to its international recognition. Also available for outdoor use and in four sizes of pendants, with multiple combinations and groupings. AGASALLO is simplicity and aesthetics only, a piece that gives us light through the iconic metal mesh, moulded and painted by hand. A piece with a simple gesture: a thread punctures through several cylindrical points and when stretched, these points come together; the result is natural and soft curves, spontaneously generated by tension. Agasallo is conceived as an organic beauty emphasised by the filter and the contrast of its light.
INN is the second novelty of the BioscaBotey showcase. A luminaire developed entirely by A-EMOTIONAL LIGHT‘s in-house design team, convinced that the past, present and future come together in this design. INN, with a circular base, has a conical and organic shape that represents growth and evolution, a unique form dressed in stainless steel mesh, which continues to be the protagonist. Emblematic of its new phase as A-EMOTIONAL LIGHT, the luminaire converges in a single metal capsule, the point from which the light emerges. The upper capsule and inner ring, so characteristic of the model, are customisable. In addition, you can choose the finishes as well as the lampshades to achieve the best combination and decorative fit. Another virtue of the INN family lies in its inner beauty, with a black ring where all the folds of the mesh are connected.
The third collection presented at BioscaBotey is the latest from A-EMOTIONAL LIGHT, the latest collection of CAMBO pendants. According to its creators, the designers Ricardo Tubío and Xabier Rilo, from the Galician design and communication studio Cenlitrosmetrocadrado, CAMBO was born with the desire to be something very vegetal, with a natural morphology, as for the first time in the brand, the luminaire combines the mesh with another material: beech wood, and this represents a declaration of intent of its new stage. The openness to research with new organic materials and their combination reinforces A-EMOTIONAL LIGHT‘s conviction in sustainable designs, and establishes a before and after in the brand’s trajectory. The presence of wood in CAMBO forges the Atlantic identity of the luminaire, and manages to take a step further on the path towards the creation of sustainable designs, and the change towards 100% natural manufacturing processes. CAMBO consists of a wooden structure with water-based varnish, which allows its most natural texture to show through. On this asymmetrical shape in two heights and finishes, rests the stainless steel mesh screen painted according to the needs of each project. The same elements for different designs. An inspiration based on the growth of plants and the branching of trees. The luminaire is also fitted with an integrated LED source in the lampshade to create a diffusion through the mesh that is as homogeneous, perfect and shadow-free as possible. The entire system is composed of four pendant models that allow them to be positioned individually, in reading or working corners, or in groups and compositions for large open spaces.
